What's Wrong?
Another idea for April Fool’s week involves looking closely at silly pictures and identifying What’s Wrong? This is a fun way to practice answering questions, vocabulary, attention to detail, and recognizing absurdities. It includes digital Boom™ Cards as well as printable task cards. Perfect for mixed groups—articulation students can practice speech carryover, while social language students focus on turn-taking and teamwork. Make sure you discuss WHY the picture is silly to get the most value out of this activity.
What's Missing?
Practice looking for details, making inferences, problem solving and speech language skills (answering questions, spoken grammar, and vocabulary) as you explain What’s Missing from each picture. This April Fools activity includes digital Boom™ Cards as well as printable task cards.
What's Different?
What’s Different?: Practice visual discrimination, attention to detail, and a variety of speech and language skills (answering questions, spoken grammar, basic concepts, compare and contrast, critical thinking, recognizing absurdities, expanding sentences, and vocabulary) as you explain how the two pictures are different. Articulation and fluency students can practice their speech carryover skills at the sentence level. Social language students can practice taking turns and working together to find the differences! Features digital Boom™ Cards as well as printable cards.
Spring Hidden Pictures
Another fun activity for April Fools week would be looking for hidden pictures in silly scenes. These Spring Hidden Pictures include pages with spring vocabulary as well as sound loaded scenes targeting M, N, P, B, T, D, K, G, F, V, S, Z, SH, CH, J, TH, L & R (including blends). Your students could practice articulation skills, spring vocabulary, prepositions, answering questions, grammar, etc. It is also a fun way to practice visual discrimination, attention to details, and recognizing absurdities (e.g., scissors for glasses, a cloud for hair). For added fun, you could give them funny glasses, a magnifying glass or googly eye finger pointers as they search for pictures! This printable activity is ideal for in-person sessions or to send home with students for carryover practice.
